Open Tablers,

There's something I want to "throw out there" after a conversation with Susan Setiawan and somebody else (forget who!) a couple of Sundays ago. The idea is to try to get permission to use the old Abshire mansion, new Maple City Health Care center (where Susan works), as a meeting place. She says there is a room about 1/2 again the size of Faith and they have a kitchen there too. One negative would be a farther bike ride for students, and others. Susan felt pretty sure that they would agree to our use, since they are all about sharing the space with the community.

I would at least like to see that space again. I have been in it in it's former life as Fourth Freedom Forum--in fact, I think Faith looked at it once when it was thinking of finding larger space. (It was too expensive!) My memory is that it is as warm and homey as FH, and would have more appropriate space than the Club House. It would be up to the biker folks to speak to the importance of the distance. By my calculation it is about a mile farther from the college--three blocks to Lincoln and then it is in the 800 block north. That's about 11 blocks which is pretty close to a mile. ME
